Our mission is to provide a home to animals that have been adandoned or abused, to show them what it is to live in a home where they are loved.

Drako was found lying on the edge of the estuary in Puntarenas next to Yesenia's house. Yesenia took him in and decided to try and feed him. Unfortunately for Yesenia, she doesn't (or didn't at that stage) really understand what it takes to take in a wounded animal. He was clearly limping and not in the best of spirits. To prevent him from running away since her yard is not enclosed, she tied him up and set him up on a bed. It was very rustic, but better than his fate.. lying at the edge of the estuary with the threat of rising waters.

Yesenia started to post these pictures on facebook which caused an outrage in the rescue community seeing that he was tied up and outside and one of the rescuers in the area agreed to take on the case, which meant that she would take care of all of the related expenses.

He was found to have erlichia and a broken leg, fractured at the top of the femur. He had the operation and required some recovery to regain the function of his leg. In the meantime he is sill on antibiotics for the erlichia.
